The beefy Dana 70 was made to be used in heavy duty Chevy, Dodge, and
Ford vehicles. It can be easily identified by the straight axle tubes,
asymmetrical 10 bolt cover, and “70” stamping. This unit is visually similar
to the Dana 60 models.
Most of the Dana 70s were made to be used as rear
axles, but front Dana 70s exist. Both front and rear Dana 70s were initially
offered in 1957. These models have more strength than the Dana 60 and less
